Thank you for my birthday gift Kristina!

I love my new serving tray you got me - it came in really handy for our turn to take snacks to our prenatal class, and I'm sure it will come in handy many times in the future. It is very pretty!

Apple Creek Stuff

I had a ton of fun making stuff and doing bulletin boards while I worked at Apple Creek. We were always doing some fun new project that let me use huge sheets of brightly colored paper... scissors, glue... tape... lots of tape!!!! I think elementary school was a little taste of heaven for me :D

This was for a Valentine's Day board where lots of teachers wrote their favorite books and decorated hearts - mine of course was Pigeon.
This was the second half of a progressive bulliten board - in April I had rain drops gushing across the board instead of flowers.

This was another ongoing board, out in the hallway to advertise what genre we were doing in our "Passport Throught the Genres" program that month. I love geometric shapes!

Kristina's Wall Hangings

Last year for Christmas, I made Kristina a wall hanging to match her living room. She asked for a matching one for her birthday, and I gladly made it for her. Here are the (as Tony calls it...) 'complimentary' wall hangings.

It's hard to see some of the colors because of the way the camera was, but you get the general idea :) The frames were about the same color as our coffee table, for those of you who have seen our coffee table. ( I did not make the frames myself - just the stuff inside )

Curtains for Cadence's Room

Well, I finally got to make curtains for the baby room. I just went and bought a sheet that matched, cut it to size, hemmed it all around and hung them up - I love easy projects! :) I also love velcro (have I mentioned that a thousand times yet?) which I used on the ribbon tie backs so I wouldn't have to actually tie and untie the curtains.

Liner Holders

I have never been able to bring myself to use trash can liners, because I hate how the liner (or in my case, Wal-Mart bag) falls down inside the trash can anytime you throw something in there. Well, the other day, after discovering a rich love for velcro, I invented a liner holder.

It looks nice, the ribbon color matches our bathroom and everything. Not only that, but if you push on the bag, the ribbon just get tighter, instead of letting the bag fall in the trash can! Tony took one look at it and said "That's really pretty, but you're never going to untie and tie that pretty bow every time you empty the trash." I turned it around and said "Tah dah!" It velcros! So all I do is pop the bag in and velcro the ribbon shut. I've done this several times now, and it works great! I love it!

Christmas Present Scrapbooks Continued from a Whole Year Ago...

Ok, like, a year ago I said I would post more pictures... here they are :) I can't seem to find all of them, so this is a sampling.

Jake's was a train theme to match his room. I had a lot of fun designing and cutting out all the train cars. That was definately a challenge for me, but like I said, I enjoyed it!

Karlea's was a flower theme. I had just gotten my Crikut (Spelling?) for Christmas, and loved playing with the different ways to cut out flowers :)

I can't find any pictures of Rylea's! I may have to see if Kayla still has it so I can steal it and take pictures. It was a "cute as a button them" and I loved the color scheme (it was kind of white and pale blues and pinks, so it was right up my alley). Anyways, that's all the pictures I could find for now.

Hair Basket Organizer

A while back I got tired of digging through my drawer for hair stuff, so I threw it all in a basket. It helped considerably, but every time I picked up the basket for a closer look, all the stuff fell through the loose weave. So I made a liner for it. That helped even more, but my clippies always got buried underneath the scrunchies, so I had to dump all my stuff out to see it all. So, I pulled the liner out and added a ribbon, stitching it at a few strategic spots to hold it in place while still allowing barrets to slide in behind it. So far, it works great! I love it, it's pretty, and it actually keeps things where I can reach them.

Daddy Diaper Duty

I made this for Tony as his gift at the shower. I've never had so much fun with tissue paper and ribbon in my whole life!!!
