Decorated Card

One of Tony’s cousins got married a while back, and in their invitation they sent a card, asking each guest to decorate it with some advice and send it back. I thought it was a really neat idea, and had fun decorating. This was really the first time I’ve used chalk on a project. I couldn’t find paper that matched their silver theme, so I just chalked the background paper and paper flower silver. It was great fun, very messy, which is just the way I like it!

Strap Cover

A couple months ago (was it really that long?! time flies!) I got tired of seeing Cadence rub at her neck every time we put her in her carseat, so I made covers for the straps. It was pretty simple. I just took a piece of lightweight, soft felt, made it double the width of the strap plus ½ inch for seam allowances. As I hemmed it I tucked some low-loft batting into it to pad it a little. Then I put a strip of Velcro and – Viola! Strap covers that are soft and comfy without being too hot, and are super easy to put on and take off.

Reversible Jumper

I loved making this jumper for Cadence – it was so easy and fun! Only one and a half naps (Since with count everything in naps now, rather than say, minutes or hours…) The directions that went with the pattern somehow got misplaced, so I had to call Mommy and have her talk me through the facing and such, but it’s a very simple pattern so it wasn’t too hard. After she explained the facing to me I thought, Hey! I could just make it go all the way down, and then it would be reversible. So here is the result:
